School Site Council and School Wellness Council Elections

Your vote counts!  We have six fabulous candidates for our 2017-2018 SSC and SWC: Sarah Elkin, Chickie Leonard, Dana Lupton, Corina McGovern, Thuy Pham, and Jeff Yeh.  The SSC serves as an advisory group focused on the academic health and safety of our school. The SWC delivers healthy programs and consistent messaging to Robinson's student, staff and parent populations. All Robinson parents have an opportunity to vote!

Congratulations to Jason Marshall, Robinson’s Teacher of the Year. Jason is the teacher on Special Assignment assigned to Robinson, and we all love him.  He helps all the teachers and students with anything involving technology.

Elementary Honor Band Captures Gold

Congratulations to the Elementary Honor Band comprised of 4th and 5th graders from Grand View, Meadows, Pacific, Pennekamp and Robinson elementary schools. The Honor Band recently earned a gold rating at a music festival. Congrats to all Honor Band members including fellow Riptides: Andrew Bui (5th), Jake Dale (5th), Chloe Hynes (5th), Winston Iskandar (5th), Scarlett Peterman (4th) and Evan Sulin (5th). The best way to learn more about our award-winning elementary band program is to attend a concert. Save the date for the upcoming Robinson band concert:

Green Award Contest

Calling all students in grades 1st - 5th to participate in our first ever Green Award Contest! A brand new iPad will be awarded to the student who submits the most creative project that is both 'GREEN' and can improve our school or community. If you'd like to participate as a small group of up to 10 people, each participant in the winning group will win a reusable S’well Bottle. Teacher sponsors are encouraged. The deadline for your student to submit their projects is May 31st.

Volunteer Luncheon Will Honor Parent Volunteers

Thank you to the parents who have volunteered at Robinson this year!  We appreciate all the effort and time you have dedicated to our school as a board member, committee chair, event and classroom volunteer. MBMS Scholar Quiz Finals

Attention 4th and 5th grade parents!  Want to get an insider’s view of MBMS? Come watch the MBMS Scholar Quiz Finals on June 2nd at 1:15 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)!  This high-speed academic competition (think Jeopardy at 100 mph) galvanizes the entire campus for seven days in the spring each year. It’s a great way to get a feel for the middle school.  Questions?

Manhattan Wine Auction, Supporting MBEF

MBEF’s 23rd Annual Manhattan Wine Auction will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 4:30pm at the Manhattan Country Club.

Scholar Quiz Volunteers Needed

Nearly 600 MBMS students participate in this fast-paced competition testing their knowledge and wits on curriculum they have learned, current events and pop culture. This is a way to see how MBMS students shine while having fun at this annual lunchtime event. It also will help you understand what it is, so you can encourage your child to participate when he/she is in 6th grade at MBMS!

Beautification Week

Pull out a rake and help maintain Robinson’s grounds during Beautification Week.  Please consider signing up one day during lunch, or right after school, to clean up a small area around your child's class. Green cans will be located all around campus and students look forward to gathering leaves and trash, and stuffing the green cans to the brim!  Tools and gloves will be provided.  Thank you in advance for your efforts to help us clean up the campus!

League of Women Voters to Host Mental Health Panel

Fifth Grade Team Wins Odyssey of the Mind State Championship

The 5th grade team from Robinson Elementary captured the Odyssey of the Mind State Championship and is headed to the World Finals in May at Michigan State University! They placed first in Spontaneous Problem-Solving and First Overall in their division. Congratulations to team members: Bridget Ballantine, Callie Boren, Hunter Gregory, Chloe Hynes, William Kiely and Jonathan Voskuilen. Other MBUSD teams participated and shined at the tournament, including Pacific and Pennekamp.

Lost and Found is Full

Are you missing a jacket? Or perhaps 10 jackets, a bunch of lunch boxes, some water bottles and other assorted articles of clothing that found their way to school, but didn't come home? Our Lost and Found, located near the cafeteria, is overflowing with items that have been left behind. If your student is missing anything, please check it out before Spring Break! After April 7, all unclaimed items, from the S'Well bottles to the Jr. Guards hoodies, will be donated!
