Battle of the Books

Robinson will be participating in the Battle of the Books program for the first time this year.  We hope all of our third, fourth, and fifth students will join this great program! Our 3rd graders compete against other 3rd grade students, while our 4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to participate and compete against other MBUSD Elementary Schools through the national reading program called “Battle of the Books”. The goal of the program is to support students in their love and discovery of reading by introducing them to quality literature and to develop friendships between students based upon socialization, competition, and mutual respect.

The Battle of the Books program is open all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Students who are interested in participating will have until the spring to read as many books as possible on the 2018-2019 reading list. The students may find some of the books on the list easy to read while others may be more challenging. If they’ve already read some of the books, they’ll have a head start! Students will meet a few times each month during their lunchtime.
