Robinson's 16th Annual Spelling Bee will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018
. Prior to this school-wide competition, each 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classroom will hold its own classroom bee, conducted during the school day. Two finalists and one alternate will be selected from each class. The schedule for these classroom bees is as follows:
3rd Grade - Friday January 26
4th Grade - Wednesday January 24
5th Grade - Thursday January 25
Parents of the classroom finalists and alternates will receive information after the classroom bees regarding grade-level competition times for the Spelling Bee on January 30, so that they may attend during these times only (seating is limited).
Here are some useful links for study:
- after creating an account, your student can access all of their grade level words
- this is a FREE website where students can study spelling words and hear the words actually spoken
As with last year, the final spell-off between the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade champions will be conducted with words that are not available for prior study. This is in accordance with the regional and national competition rules, and requires the champion to have previous knowledge of word formations and their spellings and will help us find the most qualified 2018 Robinson Spelling Bee Champion who will continue on to the Scripps Regional Championship in March! Good luck to all!
